HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN SOAP FOAM BOOSTER AT HOME*
One thing is making commercial laundry bar soaps for more profits and less cost, another thing is, does the soaps foam well? Does it have enough cleaning power? Of course it’s only you that can answer this questions!
My name is Johnson Job, and I’ve been a producer of local home made laundry bar soaps and detergents for years now. In fact, I own local laundry bar soap factories across 3 different locations here in Nigeria. And I use to get questions like this even from those I train on daily basis. some would ask: ‘Aside from the fact that your liquid soaps and laundry bar soaps are really cheap in the market, they still foam and have a lot of cleansing power, Just how do you do it compared to the other brands? I normally tell them it’s the work of my home made foam booster.
So today, I’ll be teaching you how to make your own foam booster at home using some few cheap industrial chemicals compared to buying your foam booster from the chemical store. Making your foam booster at home reduces the cost of your production so stay focused till the end of this lesson….
Now let’s get into the details; first I’ll be using sodium sulfate, followed by SLS Rice (also known as Sodium laureate sulfate) and a hot water.. boiled at about 100 degree Celsius.
*Now Let’s Know The process*
To make a commercial home made foam booster for your laundry bar soaps involves the following steps:
Step 1: use 1073 grams of hot water at 100ยฐc to Dissolve 161 grams of sodium sulfate and 267 grams of SLS rice into it.
Step 2: Stir the mixture continuously until it’s completely dissolve while becoming thickening up like pap in the process.
Step 3: Cover it and leave it closed for at least 12 hours before mixing it again as it might have cold up already. You can keep it overnight to have a consistent clear texture before carrying out the next step.
Step 4: You’ll still need to add another 300 grams of cold water to it again and still mix it up to gradually bring out a consistent, homogeneous and a slime like texture like that that of the industrially-made foam booster you usually buy from the chemical markets.
N/B, It will not exactly look like the industrially made you usually buy from the market but it’ll do the same job in your production and you must not add the extra 300 grams of cold water to it while continuing the second step if you intend to use it for liquid soap production.
Hope you know the essence of making all these production before you go into your laundry bar soaps making process is to try reducing the overall costs the of production by producing some of the raw materials or ingredients yourself.
