Now for some of you still wondering “WHAT ARE COLOR SPECKLES”

Color speckles are small or tiny vibrant particles incorporated into white detergent powder.

It’s used for enhancement in some white powder detergent as additives like stain removers and for decorative purposes. Though some are just plain colors.

So as we proceed to the main training, let’s note the following safety precautions:

*Do not pour water into any chemical during the dissolving process “it’s dangerous” instead, pour the chemical into the needed quantity of water.

*Do not taste any chemical.

*Do not inhale any chemicals.

*Avoid direct contact of chemicals with the eyes/ skin.

*Ensure to put on protective wears at least nose or face mask and gloves during production.

*Keep all chemicals out of the reach of children and pets. And lastly,

*Use a well ventilated place.

Ingredients required are;

* 15g of sodium sulfate each

*Water soluble Color ( three colors)

*Stain removing agent

Procedures:

Assemble the ingredients one after the other, this includes the sodium sulfate, colour and stain removing agent.

In three different bowls add your sodium sulfate.

Step 1, Add stain removing agent to the bowl, the remaining two will be used as plain colorful balls.

N/B: Some color speckles are stain removers while some are just plain colors, in this publication I’ll be working with color red, green and blue, you can use any color of your choice.

Add in your colors, I will be using red, green and blue. First, add the red color into the bowl that contains the stain removing agent, then the green and blue colors into the other bowl containing sodium sulfate respectively.

N/B: the bowl containing the green and blue colors will be used as plain color speckles because no stain removing agent is added to it.

Mix each of the bowls thoroughly and allow to dry for about 5 – 10 minutes.

Now let’s explore the Second Method with a different recipe.

Ingredients Required are;

*Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLS) rice.

*Colors.

Procedures:

Unlike the first method I’ll be working with just two colors (red and green) you can use any color of your choice.

Step 1, Get two clean bowls, add 15g of SLS rice into each of it (you can add more depending on the quantity you want to make, you can produce 20g or 30g depending on the quantity of color speckles you need and the quantity of detergent powder you want to produce because in a total batch of detergent powder you need about 1 percent of each of these color speckles so the quantity of detergent you want to produce will determine the quantity of color speckles).

Add the colors one after the other into the SLS rice, please go through the steps carefully and follow the instructions.

Mix thoroughly and dry for about 10-15 minutes.

After drying you can go ahead and mix the finish product of the two methods in a white detergent.

N/B: These colorful balls dissolve easily in water and leave no stain especially in white fabrics.

With this we have come to the end of this article. Go ahead and try it out.
